ABOUT PETER MOREIRA
Though this site focuses on Peter Moreira’s role as the author of The Haight Crime Series, most of his career has been spent in journalism, largely as a business reporter.
With the decline of traditional media, he and his wife Carol (who he met in Hong Kong in 1991) have been entrepreneurs for more than a decade.
Peter began his career in journalism at 17 as a summer reporter with the Chronicle-Herald in his home town of Halifax, Nova Scotia. With a special passion for business journalism, he has worked in Ottawa, Hong Kong, Seoul and London, for such news outlets as Bloomberg, the South China Morning Post, The Deal and Canadian Press. In 2011, Peter and Carol launched Entrevestor.com, an online site that provides news and data on Atlantic Canadian startups.
With their children Cat and Scott grown up and launched, Peter and Carol now live in Bedford, NS, where they write novels and spend their spare time jogging and reading. As genetic vagabonds, they are avid pet-sitters, having completed more than 20 pet-sits in four countries. Other than his friends and family, the greatest joys in Peter's life are watching the San Francisco 49ers on TV or going to concerts given by musicians whose best years are well behind them.
